Ranger made his NASCAR debut on the Canadian Tire Series in 2007. In his debut season he won the second race of the year at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario and went on to win the points championship. He made his first start on the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2008 at the NAPA Auto Parts 200 in Montreal. In 2009 he repeated as the points championship winner on the Canadian Tire Series, winning six races and outdistancing the competition by 167 points in the standings. Ranger made his debut in the Sprint Cup Series in 2011 for FAS Lane Racing at the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen at Watkins Glen International and finished in 35th place.
