Bires joined the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2007, driving for Wood Brothers Racing in 19 races while sharing duties with Mark Martin. He has competed in more than 85 races on the NASCAR Nationwide Series circuit since 2007, and posted more than a dozen Top 10 finishes. Bires made his debut on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the 2012 Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at Loudon for Go Green Racing and would up finishing in 42nd place when he was forced out of the race with brake issues after completing 19 laps.
