Gordon cruises to win at Infineon Raceway
Jeff Gordon won his first race of the season Sunday as he captured the Dodge/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway in the Sonoma Valley.
Ryan Newman held off Terry Labonte for second place, while Greg Biffle finished fourth, followed by Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Jeff Burton, Elliot Sadler, and Boris Said. Nextel Cup points leader Jimmie Johnson rounded out the Top 10.
Johnson continues to lead the driver standings after 16 events, and he now holds a 101-point advantage on second-place Matt Kenseth. Kasey Kahne is in third place, followed by Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Burton, Tony Stewart, Gordon, Biffle, and Kevin Harvick.
The drivers will next meet up in Daytona for the Pepsi 400 at the Daytona International Speedway on July 1st.
