Kenseth claims second straight Sharpie 500
Matt Kenseth poured it on at the end and held off Kyle Busch for his second consecutive Sharpie 500 victory at Bristol Motor Speedway Saturday night.
Kenseth clinched his second victory in as many races and closed to within seven points of Nextel standings leader Jimmie Johnson. Kyle Busch finished in second and moves to fourth overall in the standings, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr, Scott Riggs and Jeff Gordon rounding out the top five.
Also earning points in the race and rounding out the top 10 are Denny Hamlin in sixth place followed by Carl Edwards in seventh, Ryan Newman eighth, Jeff Burton ninth and points leader Jimmie Johnson scraped out a 10th place finish.
The drivers next take to the track on September 3rd for the Sony HD 500 at California Speedway.
