Truex Jr. takes Autism 400
Martin Truex Jr. won his first Nextel Cup race on Monday, taking the checkered flag at Dover International Speedway.
Nextel points leader Jeff Gordon finished in ninth and remains in top spot in the chase, ahead of Jimmie Johnson, who finished in 15th. Ryan Newman finished in second, and led for over 100 laps early in the race.
Carl Edwards came in third, while Denny Hamlin was right behind in fourth and Matt Kenseth gained some ground in the standings by finishing fifth.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Greg Biffle in sixth, Mark Martin was seventh, Clint Bowyer finished eighth, followed by Gordon and in tenth was Robby Gordon.
The drivers will take to the track at Pocono Speedway on Sunday for the Pocono 500.
