Stewart wins at Chicagoland

Tony Stewart won for the first time in the 2007 season Sunday, as he held off Matt Kenseth to take the checkered flag at Chicagoland Speedway in the USG Sheetrock 400.

The win bumped Stewart up to sixth place in the driver standings. Jeff Gordon was ninth on Sunday and increased his points lead over second place Denny Hamlin (who was 17th) to 303 points.

Carl Edwards was third at Chicagoland followed by Kevin Harvick in fourth and Casey Mears in fifth. Kurt Busch was sixth and Jeff Burton finished seventh. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Ryan Newman, Gordon and Clint Bowyer.

The drivers of NASCAR get a short break before returning to the track on July 29 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
