Bowyer wins at New Hampshire
Clint Bowyer picked the perfect time to win his first-ever Nextel Cup race Sunday, as the started The Chase for the Nextel Cup with a win in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway.
The win moved Bowyer from 12th place in the Chase standings all the way up to fourth. Jimmie Johnson, who was sixth on Sunday, remains as The Chase leader.
Finishing second behind Bowyer at New Hampshire was Jeff Gordon, followed by Tony Stewart in third and Kyle Busch in fourth. Martin Truex Jr. was fifth and Johnson was sixth.
Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Matt Kenseth, Casey Mears, Ryan Newman and J.J. Yeley.
The drivers of NASCAR return to the track next week at Dover International Speedway in the Dodger Dealers 400.
