Johnson wins at Texas
Jimmie Johnson won his third race in a row Sunday, as the held off Matt Kenseth on the final laps to claim the checkered flag in the Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
The win propelled Johnson into first place in the points standings. With two races remaining Johnson holds a 30-point lead over Jeff Gordon, who finished seventh on Sunday.
Martin Truex was third at Texas, followed by Kyle Busch in fourth place and Ryan Newman in fifth place. Jeff Burton was sixth, Gordon was seventh and Kurt Busch was eight. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Jamie McMurray and Kevin Harvick.
The drivers of NASCAR head to Phoenix International Raceway next week for the Checker Auto Parts 500.
