Newman wins at Daytona

Ryan Newman pulled ahead of Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart on the final lap and never looked back Sunday, as Newman ended a 81-race winless streak with a victory in the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Penske Racing teammate Busch made it a one-two finish for Penske, while Stewart drove his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to a third-place finish. Kyle Busch finshed fourth at Daytona, followed by Reed Sorenson in fifth place.

Kasey Kahne was sixth on Sunday and Elliott Sadler crossed the finish line seventh. In his Sprint Cup debut with Hendrick Motorsports Dale Earnhardt Jr. was eighth on Sunday. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Robby Gordon in ninth and Greg Biffle in tenth.

The drivers of NASCAR head to California Speedway next week for the Auto Club 500.
