Gordon wins at Texas
Jeff Gordon finally snapped a 47-race winless streak Sunday, as he claimed the checkered flag in the Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Gordon entered the race with the lead in the driver standings and increased his lead over Jimmie Johnson, who finished second on Sunday, to 162 points with the win.
Following Gordon and Johnson across the finish line on Sunday was Greg Biffle in third, Tony Stewart in fourth and Matt Kenseth in fifth. Mark Martin was sixth and Juan Pablo Montoya was seventh. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Kurt Busch, Jeff Burton and Carl Edwards.
The drivers of NASCAR get a couple weeks off before returning to the track on Saturday, April 18 at Phoenix International Raceway in the Subway Fresh Fit 500.
