Martin claims Southern 500 at Darlington
Mark Martin won for the second time in four races by holding off Jimmie Johnson and crossing the finish line to capture the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway Saturday night.
Tony Stewart pulled ahead and finished in third spot, while Ryan Newman crossed in fourth, and current points leader Jeff Gordon came in fifth.
Martin Truex Jr. finished sixth, with Brad Keselowski coming in seventh followed by Greg Biffle. Rounding out the Top 10 was Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth.
The drivers of NASCAR will participate in the All-Star race next week, before returning to Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway May 24th.
