Vickers win at Michigan

Brian Vickers outdueled Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the final laps Sunday to take the checkered flag in the Carfax 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Tony Stewart finished well back in 17th place on Sunday, but still retained the points lead. He now leads Gordon by 284 points with three races remaining before the Chase.

Following Vickers, Gordon and Earnhardt Jr. over the finish line on Sunday was Carl Edwards in fourth, Sam Hornish Jr. in fifth and Casey Mears in sixth. Joey Logano was seventh and Clint Bowyer was eighth. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were David Reutimann and Denny Hamlin.

The Sprint Cup Series returns to the track on Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway in the Sharpie 500.
