Hamlin wins at Martinsville
Denny Hamlin held off a late charge by Jimmie Johnson to record his third win of the season Sunday at Martinsville Speedway in the TUMS Fast Relief 500.
Johnson retained the points lead after the second-place finish at Martinsville. With five races remaining Johnson leads Mark Martin by 118 points.
Finishing behind Hamlin and Johnson on Sunday was Juan Pablo Montoya in third, Kyle Busch in fourth and Jeff Gordon in fifth. Jamie McMurray was sixth, Ryan Newman was seventh and Mark Martin was eighth. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart.
The Chase resumes next week at Talladega Superspeedway with the AMP Energy 500.
