Hamlin cashes Martinsville
Denny Hamlin took the lead following a restart on the second-to-last lap and never looked back to win the Goody's Fast Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway on Monday.
Jimmie Johnson finished ninth and took over top spot in the Sprint Cup Series driver's standings. Johnson is 14 points ahead of Greg Biffle, who came in 10th on Monday.
Following Hamlin across the line was teammate Joey Logano. Jeff Gordon was third, while Ryan Newman finished fourth and Martin Truex Jr. was fifth. Rounding out the top 10 were Brian Vickers, Clint Bowyer, and Carl Edwards.
The Sprint Cup Series continues on April 10 at Phoenix International Raceway with the Subway Fresh Fit 600.
