Bowyer wins at Talladega
It took the examination of replays but NASCAR officials finally figured it out after a major crash after the white flag messed up everything at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, but in the end Clint Bowyer was awarded his second win of the season in the AMP Energy Juice 500.
Even after the win on Sunday Bowyer still sits 12th in the Chase standings. Jimmie Johnson finished seventh at Talladega and retained the points lead. Johnson now holds a 10-point lead on Denny Hamlin, who finished eighth on Sunday.
Finishing behind Bowyer on Sunday were Kevin Harvick in second, David Reutimann in third and Juan Pablo Montoya in fourth. Joey Logano was fifth, Martin Truex Jr. was sixth and Johnson was seventh. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Jeff Gordon.
The Chase for the Sprint Cup continues next week at Texas Motor Speedway with the AAA Texas 500.
