Johnson wins at Talladega

Jimmie Johnson edged Clint Bowyer in a mad dash at the finish line on Sunday to record his first win of the season in the Aaron's 499 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Following Johnson and Bowyer across the finish line a Talladega was Jeff Gordon in third place, Dale Earnhardt Jr. in fourth place and Kevin Harvick in fifth. Carl Edwards was sixth, Greg Biffle was seventh and Mark Martin was eighth. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were David Gilliland and Joey Logano.

The sixth place finish by Edwards was good enough to allow him to hold on to first place in the driver standings. Edwards has 295 points and a five-point lead on Johnson, who moved up to second from fourth after Sunday's win.

The Sprint Cup Series returns to the track on April 30 with the Crown Royal Presents The Matthew and Daniel Hansen 400 at Richmond International Raceway.
