Hamlin wins at Michigan
Denny Hamlin made his first trip to victory lane this season on Sunday after claiming the checkered flag in the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Following Hamlin across the finish line on Sunday were Matt Kenseth in second, Kyle Busch in third and Paul Menard in fourth. Carl Edwards was fifth, Ryan Newman was sixth and Tony Stewart placed seventh. Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 at Michigan were Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin and Brian Vickers.
By finishing fifth on Sunday Edwards held on to the top spot in the driver standings. He holds a 20-point lead on Kevin Harvick, who jumped up to second place in the standings after placing 14th at Michigan.
The Sprint Cup Series returns to the track next week at Infineon Raceway with the first road course race of the season, the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
