Johnson gets victory at the Daytona 500
Jimmie Johnson raced to the win at the Daytona 500 on Sunday afternoon, holding off Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mark Martin for the season-opening victory at Daytona International Speedway.
Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle, Regan Smith, Danica Patrick, Michael McDowell, and J.J. Yeley rounded out the Top 10 at the Daytona 500, while defending-champion Matt Kenseth finished well back in 37th place.
Johnson now leads the Sprint Cup Series driver standings with 47 points, followed by Earnhardt Jr. with 42 points, Martin and Keselowski with 41 points, and Newman with 40 points.
The drivers of the Sprint Cup Series now move on to Phoenix International Raceway for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 on March 3.
