Rick Porcello drove in two runs and pitched seven innings for the win, leading the Detroit Tigers to a 3-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at PNC Park.
Detroit won the game as -200 favorites, while the team’s played UNDER the posted over/under (5.5).
Brandon Inge went deep to drive in the other run for the Tigers. Fernando Rodney closed out the ninth to record his 12th save of the season.
Freddy Sanchez drove in the only run for the Pirates, while Ian Snell gave up 10 hits and two runs to suffer the loss.
