Central Florida Defeats Memphis 41-0 - Recap
The battle between the Knights and Tigers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Memphis was handed a 41-0 defeat on Saturday at Bright House Networks Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Knights were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of 29.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 48.5.
Jeff Godfrey completed 14 of 17 pass attempts for 200 yards for the Knights in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Billy Foster rushed for 20 yards for Memphis, while Artaves Gibson added 19 yards. Taylor Reed threw for 97 yards for the Tigers, while receivers Curtis Johnson and Tannar Rehrer had 48 and 21 yards respectively.
Memphis was outgained by Central Florida 505-134 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 28-6 by the Knights.
Memphis lost the time of possession battle 40:03/19:57, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Central Florida takes its act home to face Tulsa looking for another win. For Memphis, they head home to face UAB.
