Midshipmen use ground assault to charge past Golden Flashes
The Navy Midshipmen ran for a total 334 yards and four touchdowns on Saturday and pulled out a 34-31 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes.
The Midshipmen came into this game as 13-point favorites but failed to cover the spread. The game’s final score went OVER the posted total (52.5).
Quarterback Lamar Owens threw for 170 yards and was picked off twice but was the Midshipmen’s leading rusher with 107 yards and a touchdown. Adam Ballard, Brian Hampton and Karl Whittaker all added rushing TD's in the win.
Michael Machen threw for 291 yards and completed touchdown passes to Najah Pruden and Brian Bell in the loss. Jerry Flowers and Luke Tillman each had TD on the ground for the Golden Flashes.
