Midshipmen use ground assault to knock off Green Wave
The Navy Midshipmen threw only three passes on Saturday, but were able to pick up 418 yards and six touchdowns on the ground to earn a 49-21 win over the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday.
Navy came into this game as an 11-point favorite at home and easily covered the spread. The game’s combined 70 points went OVER the posted total (52.5).
Quarterback Lamar Owens ran for 80 yards and three touchdowns, while Matt Hall, Marco Nelson, and Reggie Campbell all rushed for a touchdown each in the victory.
Jovon Jackson rushed for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 16 carries for the Green Wave, and Scott Elliot had 109 yards passing, a touchdown and an interception in the loss.
