Buckeyes shut down Zips
The No.12 Ohio State Buckeyes overcame five turnovers in Week 2, using a stout defensive effort to beat the Akron Zips 20-2 at Ohio Stadium.
The Buckeyes could not cover the 27.5-point home spread, and the 22 points scored were UNDER the posted total of 47.5.
Todd Boeckman went 14-for-23 for 130 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Chris Wells ran for 146 yards on 20 carries for the Buckeyes.
Chris Jacquemain was 12-for-21 for 53 yards, while Jabari Arthur caught four passes for 34 yards for the Zips.
