Cardinals tame Cubs in opener
The St. Louis Cardinals rallied with four runs over the final four innings to defeat the Chicago Cubs 7-4 in the opener of a four-game series at Wrigley Field Thursday afternoon.
St. Louis won the game as +105 underdogs, while the game’s 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8).
Chris Duncan went 3-for-4 at the plate with a two-run homer and three RBIs to lead the Cardinals. Adam Wainwright posted the victory with six-complete innings, and Ryan Franklin tossed a scoreless ninth for his second save.
Kosuke Fukudome cracked a three-run homer for the Cubs, while David Patton gave up the winning run in relief.
