Pirates rout Mets in sweep

The Pittsburgh Pirates scored four runs in the first and fourth innings as they trounced the New York Mets 11-6 Thursday afternoon for a sweep of the shortened three-game series.

Pittsburgh won this game as +110 underdogs, while the 17 runs sailed OVER the day’s posted over/under (8.5).

Jason Jaramillo went 2-for-4 at the plate, and drove in four runs to lead the Pirates. Steven Jackson tossed two scoreless innings for the victory.

Carlos Beltran had two hits and went deep in a losing effort for the Mets. Mike Pelfrey was rocked for nine runs over 3 2-3 innings.
