Big inning lifts Cards over Brewers

The St. Louis Cardinals scored all their runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 Thursday afternoon in the rubber match at Miller Park.

St. Louis won the game as -115 favorites, while the team’s played UNDER the posted over/under (9).

Ryan Ludwick cracked a three-run homer to lead the Cardinals. Joel Pineiro tossed a complete-game three-hitter for his seventh win of the season.

Mike Cameron singled in the only run for the Brewers. Carlos Villanueva surrendered two runs in relief in taking the loss.
