Will Venable went 2-for-4 at the plate with a solo home run for the Padres. Greg Burke got the win in relief, and Heath Bell notched his 26th save.
Casey McGehee went deep in a losing effort for the Brewers. Mike Burns gave up nine hits and three runs over 5 2-3 innings in the loss.
