Morneau, Twins slip past Rays
Justin Morneau's run-scoring fielder's choice in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Minnesota Twins past the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 on Tuesday night.
Minnesota won as -120 home favorites as the game played under the 8-run total set by oddsmakers.
Morneau also had a two-run homer for the Twins, while Joe Nathan picked up the win in relief of starter Francisco Liriano for Minnesota.
Ben Zobrist hit a pinch-hit dinger for Tampa Bay, as J.P. Howell took the defeat after allowing the game-winning run in the ninth.
