Texas takes down Angels
The Texas Rangers rode a terrific start from pitcher Vicente Padilla to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels at Rangers Ballpark Saturday afternoon.
Texas won as a -114 home favorite while the final score played under the 10-run total.
Padilla went eight innings and gave up three runs on 10 hits. Rangers third baseman Michael Young finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Angels starter John Lackey, who was returning off the DL, was ejected after just two pitches. He plunked Texas leadoff batter Ian Kinsler and was tossed by umpire Bob Davidson. At the plate, the Halos got three hits from Chone Figgins, who also picked up an RBI.
