White Sox down Royals in opener

The Chicago White Sox closed out the Kansas City Royals with a 4-1 victory in the opener of a four-game series at Kauffman Stadium Thursday night.

Chicago won the game as -140 favorites, while the five runs went UNDER the posted over/under (9).

Jayson Nix homered and scored once for the White Sox. Mark Buehrle tossed 8 1-3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.

David DeJesus drove in the only run for the Royals, while Bruce Chen allowed two runs over six innings in the loss.
