White Sox outlast Orioles

The Chicago White Sox were out hit, but managed to come away with a 12-8 victory over the Baltimore Orioles Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field.

Chicago won the game as -170 favorites, and the combined 20 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9.5).

Jim Thome belted a grand slam homer, and went deep for a three-run dinger with seven RBIs for the White Sox. John Danks scattered seven hits and three runs over five innings to collect his eighth win of the season.

Adam Jones smacked a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs for the Orioles. Jason Berken gave up six runs over 4 1-3 innings.
