The Minnesota Twins scored their runs early and held on for a 5-3 victory over the Texas Rangers in the opener of a three-game series at Rangers Ballpark Friday night.
Minnesota won the game as a +110 underdogs, while the eight runs fell UNDER the night’s posted over/under (10.5).
Jason Kubel led the Twins with a three-run dinger, and Carlos Gomez drove in two runs. Glen Perkins allowed seven hits and three runs over five innings to pick up the victory.
Josh Hamilton belted a two-run homer and drove in all three runs for the Rangers. Vicente Padilla gave up 11 hits and five runs over seven innings in the loss.
