Tigers nip A’s

Ryan Raburn launched two home runs to lead the Detroit Tigers over the Oakland A’s 3-2 Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at Oakland Coliseum.

Detroit won the game as -135 favorites, while the team’s played UNDER the posted over/under (8).

Clete Thomas drove in the winning run for the Tigers. Edwin Jackson tossed six innings for the win, and Fernando Rodney notched his 26th save.

Jack Cust had three hits and drove in one run for the A’s. Gio Gonzalez gave up four hits and three runs over 5 2-3 innings in the loss.
