Chicago wins war of sox against Boston

The Chicago White Sox rode a stellar performance from starting pitching Gavin Floyd to an 5-1 win over the Boston Red Sox at U.S. Cellular Field in Game 2 of their weekend series Saturday.

Chicago was priced as a -117 home favorite while the final score played over the nine run total.

Floyd was perfect through six innings, finally allowing one run on three hits in eight innings of work. Paul Konerko and and Mark Kotsay hit home runs for the White Sox.

Boston starter Tim Wakefield went six innings, allowing four run on six hits. The Red Sox offense was paced by Jason Bay's 31st home run of the season.
