Reds fend off Indians
Laynce Nix homered and drove in a pair of runs as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Cleveland Indians 7-4 Friday in the first game of a three-game inter-league set at Progressive Field.
The Reds won the game as a -110 pick’em, while the 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9) set by sportsbooks.
Bronson Arroyo tossed 6 2-3 innings to earn his fourth victory, and Francisco Cordero closed out the game for his 12th save.
Aaron Laffey gave up two runs in relief of starter Jake Westbrook and suffered the loss for the Indians.
