Mariners rally for win over Rangers
The Seattle Mariners scored three runs in the ninth inning to steal a 4-3 win over the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington Saturday.
Seattle won as a -140 road favorite while the final score played UNDER the 8.5-run total.
Ichiro Suzuki, Ken Griffey Jr. and Franklin Gutierrez all had RBI singles in the final frame. Gutierrez finished the day 3-for-5. Starting pitcher Felix Hernandez went seven innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits.
Nelson Cruz hit a solo home run while Julio Borbon picked up an RBI in the loss. Starter Matt Harrison went six innings, giving up one run on six hits. Reliever Frank Francisco was credited with the loss after allowing three runs on 15 pitches in the ninth.
