Vernon Wells drove in three runs in a Toronto eight-run third inning Friday, as the Blue Jays outlasted the Texas Rangers 16-10 in the opener of a three-game series at Rogers Centre.
The Blue Jays won the game as a -110 pick’em, while the 26 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (8.5) set by sportsbooks.
Josh Roenicke pitched 1 1-3 innings of relief, allowing two runs and collected the win for the Blue Jays.
Doug Mathis surrendered eight runs in just over an inning of relief and was tagged with the Rangers loss.
