Ruiz, Phillies nip Cardinals in extra innings
Carlos Ruiz's walk-off blast in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Philadelphia Phillies over the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Philadelphia won as -110 home favorites, while the teams played UNDER the 8.5-run total posted by oddsmakers.
Ruiz finished 2-for-3 with two runs batted in for the Phillies, as Jose Contreras got the win in relief of Cole Hamels for Philadelphia.
Yadier Molina was 3-for-4 with an RBI for St. Louis, while Blake Hawksworth was hit with the loss after allowing Ruiz's dinger in the bottom of the 10th.
