Phillies too much for Diamondbacks

Ryan Howard went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three runs batted in to lead the Philadelphia Phillies past the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-5 on Tuesday night.

Philadelphia cashed as -250 home favorites, while the game played OVER the 8.5-run total set by oddsmakers.

Jayson Werth was 2-for-3 with a two-run dinger for the Phillies, as David Herndon picked up the win in relief of Cole Hamels for Philadelphia.

Mark Reynolds went deep and had two RBIs for Arizona, while Jordan Norberto took the loss after coming into the game following Diamondbacks starter Rodrigo Lopez.
