Nationals top Braves

Ian Desmond went 2-for-3 with a solo home run Thursday, lifting the Washington Nationals to a 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in the series rubber match.

The Nationals won this game as +129 underdogs, while the eight runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (8.5) set by sportsbooks.

Scott Olsen tossed six innings for the win, allowing five hits and three runs. Matt Capps pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 26th save.

Derek Lowe surrendered five hits and four runs over his five innings in the Braves loss.
