Gamecocks knock off Commodores
Blake Mitchell and Sidney Rice hooked up three times in the end zone on Saturday, including a three-yard strike with less than two minutes to go in the game to lift the South Carolina Gamecocks to a 35-28 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.
The Gamecocks were favored by seven points with the game ending in a push. The combined score went OVER the posted total (50.5).
Mitchell finished the game with 245 yards passing and Rice with a 130 yards receiving. Syvelle Newton went 3-for-4 for 20 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for another.
Jay Cutler passed 336 yards and a touchdown and Cassen Garrison rushed for two touchdowns in the loss for the Commodores.
