Ryan Mallett sliced and diced the Gamecocks defense for 303 yards as Arkansas handed South Carolina a 41-20 defeat on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Arkansas won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 4-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 59.5.
Knile Davis rushed for 110 yards, while Broderick Green added 26 yards in the win. Cobi Hamilton and Jarius Wright added 111 and 88 receiving yards respectively.
Stephen Garcia rushed for 54 yards for South Carolina, while Marcus Lattimore added 30 yards. Stephen Garcia threw for 161 yards for the Gamecocks, while receivers Alshon Jeffery and Justice Cunningham had 99 and 31 yards respectively.
South Carolina lost the offensive yardage battle to Arkansas 443-295 yards in Saturday's game. Arkansas had more first downs as that total ended up 23-18.
The time of possession battle favored Arkansas as their offense was on the field for 34:20, longer than the 25:40 of their opponents.
Arkansas looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Texas El Paso. South Carolina will aim to get back on the winning track at Florida.
