Boston got 24 points from Kevin Garnett and another 16 points from Glen Davis. Rajon Rondo contributed 24 assists, while Paul Pierce cleaned the glass with 14 rebounds.
New York got 27 points from Amar'e Stoudemire in a losing cause and another 19 points from Wilson Chandler. Raymond Felton contributed 6 assists for the Knicks, while Landry Fields had 10 rebounds.
The Celtics hit the break leading 50-46 before taking care of business in the second half.
Boston won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 54-38.
Next game, Boston takes its act on the road to face Detroit looking for another win. For New York, they head home to face Portland.
