Bruins fight off Wildcats in Sun Bowl
Kahlil Bell rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on Friday to lead the No.17 UCLA Bruins to a 50-38 win over the Northwestern Wildcats in Friday's Vitalis Sun Bowl.
UCLA came into this game as a 2.5-point favorite and was able to cover the spread. The game’s combined 88 points went OVER the posted total (75).
Drew Olson threw for 144 yards and three touchdowns, and was picked off three times. Marcus Everett, Ryan Moya and Michael Pitre all had touchdown catches, while Brandon Breazell returned two onside kicks for touchdowns to help out in the win for UCLA.
Kevin Mims and Nick Roach each returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter for Northwestern. Brett Basanez completed 39-of-70 passes for 420 yards, while throwing touchdowns to Shaun Herbert and Mark Philmore, who also rushed for TD.
