Spartans fend off Panthers
The Michigan State Spartans scored two touchdowns in the second quarter and held on for a 17-13 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers Saturday afternoon.
Michigan State failed to cover the 11.5-point spread, while the combined 30 points fell well UNDER the posted total of 49.
Jehuu Caulcrick carried the ball 21 times for 71 yards for the Spartans, while Brian Hoyer completed 14-of-28 pass attempts for 185 yards in the win.
LeSean McCoy rushed 25 times for 173 yards and one touchdown for the Panthers.
