Los Angeles got 32 points from Kobe Bryant and another 12 points from Andrew Bynum. Kobe Bryant contributed 5 assists, while Pau Gasol cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
New Orleans got 21 points from Chris Paul in a losing cause and another 16 points from David West. Chris Paul contributed 15 assists for the Hornets, while David West had 12 rebounds.
The Lakers hit the break leading 56-50 before taking care of business in the second half.
The rebound battle favored New Orleans as they grabbed 42 boards, while Los Angeles only had 37.
Los Angeles heads into a battle against the Grizzlies. New Orleans, meanwhile, will have their next action against Minnesota.
