Late field goal lifts Broncos
Nate Meyer kicked a 21-yard field goal with 1:16 remaining as the Western Michigan Broncos edged the Miami (OH) Redhawks 27-24 at Waldo Stadium on Saturday.
The Broncos could not cover the 14-point spread at home, and the 51 points scored were OVER the posted total of 43.5.
Ryan Cubit was 23-for-35 for 205 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while Mark Bonds had a big day with 142 yards on 28 carries for the Broncos.
Mike Kokal went 16-for-26 for 282 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick, and Ryne Robinson was his favorite target, with ten catches for 180 yards and a major for the Redhawks.
