Huskies vs Owls Final: 31-17 - Recap

Chad Spann scampered through the Temple defense for 100 yards as Northern Illinois handed the Owls a 31-17 defeat on Saturday at Huskie Stadium.

Northern Illinois won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 3-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 50.5.

Chandler Harnish completed 20 of 25 pass attempts for 211 yards for the Huskies in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.

Matt Brown rushed for 93 yards for Temple, while James Nixon added 12 yards. Chester Stewart threw for 148 yards for the Owls, while receivers Joe Jones and Evan Rodriguez had 60 and 43 yards respectively.

Temple was outgained by Northern Illinois 420-272 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 24-15 by the Huskies.

The time of possession battle favored Northern Illinois as their offense was on the field for 38:10, longer than the 21:50 of their opponents.

Next game, Northern Illinois takes its act home to face Buffalo looking for another win. For Temple, they head home to face Bowling Green.
