Chippewas hold off Zips for narrow win

Dan LeFevour went 16-for-22 for 165 yards and one touchdown as the Central Michigan Chippewas nipped the Akron Zips 24-21 at Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Saturday.

Central Michigan covered the 1-point spread at home, but the 45 combined points was just UNDER the posted total of 47.

LeFevour also had 68 rushing yards on ten carries, and Bryan Anderson caught seven passes for 96 yards on the day for the Chippewas.

Luke Getsy was 25-for-46 for 372 yards, three scores, and three picks as well. Jabari Arthur had eight receptions for 136 yards and a score, and David Harvey caught five balls for 131 yards and two majors for the Zips.
