Houston got 21 points from Luis Scola and another 17 points from Chase Budinger. Kyle Lowry contributed 18 assists, while Jordan Hill cleaned the glass with 15 rebounds.
Atlanta got 15 points from Al Horford in a losing cause and another 15 points from Joe Johnson. Jeff Teague contributed 5 assists for the Hawks, while Josh Smith had 7 rebounds.
The Rockets hit the break leading 51-44 before taking care of business in the second half.
The rebound battle favored Houston as they grabbed 45 boards, while Atlanta only had 40.
Next game, Houston takes its act on the road to face Los Angeles looking for another win. For Atlanta, they head on the road to face Miami.
